Marine, poolside & outdoor
Marine and outdoor upholstery in Barbados built for sun and salt
Outdoor work is unforgiving — UV, salt spray, rain and chlorine destroy the wrong materials in a season. We fabricate boat seating, marine covers, poolside cushions and canvas canopies using marine-grade vinyls, solution-dyed acrylics, quick-dry foam and UV-stable thread.

Marine upholstery and covers
Boats based in Barbados spend their lives in direct sun and salt air. We build and repair interior and exterior soft goods so they drain, dry and hold colour.
- Helm seats, bench seating, sun pads and cockpit cushions
- Bespoke boat covers, console covers, seat covers and bimini panels
- Cabin interiors, berth mattresses and backrests
- Quick-dry reticulated foam so cushions don't hold water
- Marine vinyl and canvas in stitched or welded seams with UV-resistant thread
- Repairs — re-stitching, zip replacement and panel patching
Poolside and patio cushions
Sun loungers, wicker suites, daybeds, dining sets and built-in banquettes are recushioned in solution-dyed acrylic covers with removable zipped cases, so they can be washed and dried. Piping, ties and hook-and-loop fixings keep cushions in place in strong breeze, and drainage mesh bases stop water pooling after rain.
Canvas umbrellas, canopies and shade
We fabricate and re-cover market umbrellas, garden parasols, gazebo canopies, awnings and shade sails — including striped and scalloped detailing to match a property's colour scheme. Existing frames are usually reusable, which makes recovering far cheaper than replacement.
Villas, hotels and yacht services
We handle full terrace and pool-deck refits for villas and hotels on the west and south coasts, and service boats at Port St. Charles, Bridgetown and the Careenage. Templates and specifications are kept on file, so repeat sets and replacements match exactly.
Frequently asked
- What fabric is best for outdoor cushions in Barbados?
- Solution-dyed acrylic canvas for cushions and umbrellas, and marine-grade vinyl for boat seating. Both resist UV fading, salt and mildew far better than standard outdoor prints.
- Can you use quick-dry foam so cushions don't stay wet?
- Yes. Reticulated quick-dry foam with mesh-backed cases lets water pass through and dry out, which is essential poolside and on open boats.
- Do you re-cover existing umbrella frames?
- Yes. If the frame and ribs are sound we pattern a new canopy to the frame, which costs considerably less than a new umbrella.
- Do you come to the boat or property?
- Yes. We template on site around the island and at marinas so covers and cushions fit precisely.
